I'm sure this topic has been discussed numerous times before but I have to ask again. I'm working on a Westnghouse portable model H302P5 and it has a selenium rectifier.

Jan 02, 2011· I remember blowing a selenium rectifier or two in my day and they gave off a rather pungent odor. Blown, they would go to short and burn some wires. For replacement maybe you could use auto/truck alternator diodes that might take the amperage.
